2020 Olympic Trials Qualifier and the debutante

Sunday, December 3rd, Greg Leak and Kate Landau qualified for the 2020 Olympic Trials in the marathon with two fantastic performances at the California International Marathon in Sacramento, California.  Greg placed 17th and ran a LPB of 2:16:56. Kate ran 2:42:39 to grabbed 2nd masters honors and 30th place overall.

Also, setting a lifetime personal best in his debut was Francis Reynolds, who ran 2:27:24.

It was a great day for Team TCRC-JoeFroyo.

Racing Update - November

On November 4th, Francis Reynolds won and set the course record at the Lake Washington Half Marathon.  Great prep work as Francis as he prepares to make his marathon debut at the California International Marathon.

The next day, the Tacoma City Running Club competed very well at the PNTF Association Cross Country Championships.  Started off the day with Nancy Ellis placing 2nd in the Master's Race.  In the next race, Nicole O'Loughlin battled through the cold and tough conditions and won becoming the new PNTF Open Women's Champion!

This past weekend, Nicole and Nancy were racing again at the USATF Regional Cross Country Championships in Portland, Oregon.  Both captured the runner-up, silver medal position, Nicole in the open division and Nancy in the masters division.

Next up for TCRC-Team JoeFroyo are Turkey Trots in Washington and Missouri, and the California International Marathon on Sacramento, that is serving as the USATF Marathon Championships this fall.

Racing Update - October

Greg Leak had a great performance at the San Jose Rock N Roll Half Marathon.  Greg placed 9th with a time of 1:05:10.  Greg's next race will be on December 3rd where he will compete at California International Marathon which is hosting the USA Marathon Championships.

The Tacoma City Running Club - Joe Froyo Racing Team dominated at the Dawg Dash 5k.  Nicole O'Loughlin won the women's race with a new PR of 17:20!  Nancy Ellis was the top female master and 5th overall.  Daryl Phill was 8th and Mary Hatcher was the 2nd Master and 10th Overall.

Racing Update - April 2017

The Tacoma City Running Club - JoeFroyo Racing Team (@drinkjoefroyo) started April on a winning note with Greg Leak's 5km win at the Shotwell Invite hosted by the University of Puget Sound on Saturday.  Greg won easily in his tune up for the Mt. Sac Relays 10km in Walnut, CA in two weeks.

On the youth side, Luke and Jacob Alfonso placed 2nd and 4th at the 5 km for the Feet this weekend in 17:56 and 19:04 as 7th graders! Great racing.

On the horizon, mark your calendars for Patriot's Day as Kate will race at the Boston Marathon.

Another great month is ahead for the team.

Luck of the Irish...

St. Patrick's Day weekend and some great racing in the new kits.  At the Chuckanut 50km, Kayla Campasino places 9th and Ben Mangrum finished 17th over the muddy, hilly Bellingham course.  In Steilacoom, Nicole O'Loughlin and Brien O'Loughlin win the women's and men's division, with Mary Hatcher winning the masters' womens at the Shamrock 5km.  This morning in Portland, Oregon, Francis Stick Reynolds remained upright during the 15km to place 4th.  We had to peel him off of the pavement during the warm-up due to a vengeful zipper.  In all it was a great weekend of racing in the new Tacoma City Running Club - Team JoeFroyo racing kits.  @joefroyo

March Racing Update

Over the last two weekends, TCRC has been busy.  Two weekends ago, Francis placed 2nd in the 10km at Puget Sound Ed Boitano Invitational as a rust buster. Kate and Greg got the double win at the Hot Chocolate 15km with Kate shattering the course record by 3 minutes as she preps for the Boston Marathon.  Greg is getting back into action for his 2017 spring season.

This past weekend, Beth was the 3rd women at the St. Paddy’s Day 10km on a nasty day in the Pacific Northwest.  Alex Crabill made an appearance at Point Defiance this Sunday with the Crutch and the Coach.

And this coming weekend will be very busy with Kayla and Ben at the Chuckanut 50km, Francis at the Shamrock 15km in Portland, and Nicole and Brien at the Steilacoom Shamrock Shuffle 5km.

Let's go racing!
